Wapping Youth U16's run rampant in the Newark Christmas tournament as they ended 2016 on a high note.
Wapping Youth FC managed to make it to the final winning 4 games - scoring a staggering 11 goals while only conceding 2 goals.
Wapping had to face a talented East One FC side to lift the trophy. The final kicked off as the parents and the community watched on. Wapping scored straight away thanks to a brilliant team goal finished off by Andrew, as the game progressed Wapping looked to be in control which was then confirmed with another goal by Andrew making it 2 - 0 with 6 minutes to go. East End managed to get one back but our talented boys held on to win the game 2=1 and lift the trophy.
Coach Darnell led the team for the first time, as he won his first tournament with Wapping. He was full of praise for the team after the game. "I want to thank the boys and everyone that showed up. It was a team effort. Everyone dug deep, rolled up there sleeves and marched us forwards to victory", said Darnell.
Congratulations to all the staff and players involved in this terrific tournament win.
